(WKRC) — A substitute teacher in Indiana is facing several felony charges after police say he used social media platform Snapchat to obtain nude images of children and then extort them. Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department said it received five cyber tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, all of which came from Snapchat and were associated with the same IP address, according to reporting from FOX 59/CBS 4. Police traced the IP address to 28-year-old Dick Dean. Dean reportedly contacted multiple juveniles through Snapchat from Oct. 27 to Dec. 5, 2025. According to court documents, he would ask for nude photographs and, in return, promise the victims Snapchat+, a subscription in the app that offers premium exclusive, experimental and pre-release features. Dean would then allegedly threaten to release the photos if the victim didn't send more, per WTHR. LEWISTON – Ty Lewis, 18, who was previously associated with the Lewiston High School J.V. Football team, is now facing additional charges for alleged inappropriate conduct involving students. Lewis was arrested in February regarding inappropriate communication with a student.  According to court records, search warrants were obtained for Lewis’ cellphone and Snapchat accounts.  Lewis admitted to soliciting two players for photos over Snapchat.  He admitted to sending them pornographic videos. Investigators said Lewis was gaining access to, and power over, these students and found a clear grooming pattern.  Lewis is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation with a child and two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 16, taking place been September 2025 and February 2026. Investigators believe there may be more victims.  Lewis was transported to the Nez Perce County jail where he is being held on a $500,000 bond.
