ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday that Ian Milam, 37, of Pittsford, was arrested and charged with production, receipt, and possession of child pornography and transfer of obscene material to a minor. The charges carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, who is handling the case, said that on May 3, 2023, the Greece Police Department received a report that a sexually explicit video was discovered on a 12-year-old girl’s phone. The girl allegedly received the video from her friend, an 11-year-old girl (Minor Victim 1). Further investigation found that Snapchat accounts with usernames “matteckler” and “mikeywikey37” had been contacting the two minor girls.Search warrants executed on the Snapchat accounts with the usernames “matteckler” and “mikeywikey37” were traced to defendant Milam, who allegedly posed as a high school student in the Spencerport School District and sent sexually explicit photos and videos to Minor Victim 1. Milam is also accused of manipulating Minor Victim 1 into sending a photo via Snapchat of herself in a tank top.             WASHINGTON – Jonathan Willis, 37, of North Bethesda, Maryland, was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for coercion and enticement of a minor. The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Acting Special Agent in Charge Emily Odom, of the FBI Washington Field Office’s Criminal and Cyber Division.             Willis pleaded guilty on March 15, 2023, in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. According to the government’s evidence, on March 31, 2022, the defendant began communicating with a 14-year-old minor victim who resided in Washington, D.C. using Snapchat. The defendant offered to pay the victim money in exchange for sexually explicit photographs. Over a two-week period, the defendant sent the fourteen-year-old girl multiple photos of his penis and of himself masturbating, and repeatedly asked her to come to his residence in Maryland to “make love.” The victim refused and reported the defendant’s communications to law enforcement. On May 12, 2022 and May 24, 2022, an undercover officer assumed the victim’s identity on Snapchat. Snapchat Drops Paywall for Android Dark Mode Snapchat has made dark mode available to all Android users without the need for a Snapchat+ subscription. Previously, users had to subscribe to access this feature. Android Police was the first to notice the change. Dark mode has been free for iOS users since 2021. Earlier this year, Snapchat introduced dark mode for Android users but limited it to Snapchat+ subscribers only. In a recent announcement, Snapchat reported that its subscription service now has 4 million paid subscribers within its first year of launch. For $3.99 per month, Snapchat+ offers exclusive features like experimental and pre-release options, custom app themes, unique app icons, the ability to pin your No.1 BFF, and more. The subscription service is currently available in several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

(Shutterstock) CASPER, Wyo. — Kyle Smith, 33, of Sheridan, Wyoming, was sentenced on July 31, 2023, to 420 months’ imprisonment for sexual exploitation of children and attempted sexual exploitation of a child. U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson imposed the sentence, which included 15 years of supervised release, a $200 special assessment and $3,206.67 in restitution, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release. Court documents state the case originated when Internet Crimes Against Children investigators received Cybertips from both Snapchat and Instagram for accounts that were associated with the defendant. While ICAC was investigating these Cybertips, police in Mansfield, Texas, were separately investigating Snapchat accounts linked to the defendant for soliciting child pornography and sextortion. ICAC agents obtained search warrants and discovered that Smith was messaging numerous underage girls over Snapchat and other applications. In the messages, Smith would threaten and manipulate the underage girls into producing child pornography for him. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation’s ICAC unit, the Mansfield Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Z. Bischoff did not want to disappoint fans this week, but mother nature got in the way. Apparently, storms hit and Eric Bischoff’s home was hit with a strike of lightning that he did not expect. The former WCW leader logged onto social media to let everyone know that this week’s episode of 83 Weeks won’t be happening. His house was hit with lightning, and they have to record that later once things are fixed. Obviously, with SummerSlam, he has a lot to talk about. Apologies for the delay of todays @83Weeks episode. Our house was hit by lightning last night and fried our internet. Will be recording this afternoon. Looking forward to breaking down #SummerSlam shortly. Will drop immediately after we record. The following year, Mallory's parents, Seth and Dianne, sued the school district claiming that the authorities didn't take measures to prevent the incident. According to the lawsuit, the students bullied Mallory Grossman through texts and Snapchat. Following the 2018 controversy, the Rockaway Township School District has recently agreed to pay $9.1 million to Mallory's family. Mallory was a student of Copeland Middle School when she died by suicide. Bruce Nagel, the attorney representing Mallory's family stated that the settlement is America's largest bullying settlement as of now.
