SOUTHINGTON -- A New Britain man has pleaded not guilty to accusations of misleading an 8th grader from Southington into sending inappropriate videos to him, using a ruse that led the minor to believe he was communicating with a girl. Tyler Pertillar, 22, faces charges of enticing a minor by computer and risk of injury to a child. According to judicial records, the 22-year-old was scheduled to appear Friday in New Britain Superior Court. During the hearing, judicial records said, he pleaded not guilty to all charges, though records also indicated Pertillar was sent a letter notifying him of his next hearing. This is usually done when a defendant misses a hearing, indicating that his attorney may have entered the pleas on his behalf. The arrest warrant in the case indicates the victim in the case met with police in June 2020 and told investigators he began having conversations with Pertillar about a year earlier after friends told him that Pertillar was a “cool guy.” The minor friended him on both Instagram and Snapchat, the warrant said. Snapchat has tried to woo a lot of creators into making content on their platform for a while now, and the creation of Spotlight was a big part of this. The snapchat account shared some WhatsApp conversations purported to chat between the newscaster and the politician. Jake Henderson, 30, from Retford in Nottinghamshire, recorded the video on Snapchat during a televised briefing from Home Secretary Priti Patel in January. KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WXIX) - An 18-year-old Florence man is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in a parking lot in June. The underage victim told police she began messaging with Chase Garvey over Snapchat weeks before the alleged incident, according to a Fort Mitchell Police Department report. The report says she told Garvey she was 13. Around 5 a.m. on June 25, Garvey came to the girl’s location, the parking lot of an apartment complex in Northern Kentucky, and they met inside his vehicle, according to the report The girl told police she said to Garvey, she “didn’t want to do anything sexual. She said that while in the backseat, Garvey held her hands down while he allegedly raped her. She told police she said “to stop, it hurts.” She also told police she tried to push him away as he was on top of her. According to the report, Garvey admitted in a police interview to having sex with the girl and also said the girl had performed oral sex on him beforehand. SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Sumner County woman has been indicted after she allegedly offered money for sex with two 16-year-old boys. Deputies say they got a call last month from a parent of a 16-year-old boy who said the son had gotten Snapchat messages from 42-year-old Carrie Norman. In the Snapchat conversation, Norman offered money to the boy to have sex with her. Deputies say during the investigation a possible second 16-year-old victim was found. A text message between the second victim and Norman showed she offered to pay for sex with that boy as well on at least one occasion. It was discovered by detectives she also sent lewd photos to the victim on two separate occasions. Sumner County Jail Norman was indicted by the Sumner County Grand Jury on two counts each of aggravated statutory rape and sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means.
