North Liberty has plans to make improvements to key infrastructure. Once completed, these infrastructure upgrades will increase transportation capacity, improve our parks, add pedestrian connectivity and more. At noon each Friday in March, we’re hosting a virtual open house with members of the project teams focusing on plans for this year and the future. On March 24, we talked with City Administrator Ryan Heiar, City Engineer Kevin Trom and architects Natalie Oppedal and Tandi Brannaman of Shive-Hattery about the planned City Hall and the future civic campus, which will begin in fall 2022. The new building, which replaces leased office space that has housed city staff much longer than the originally intended 3 to 5 years, will house current city administration, planning, building, communications, legal and other other departments with reasonable room to grow. The new building is planned for the city-owned civic campus area, currently containing the Police and Fire departments, along Cherry and Main streets. Registration for future presentations is open.
