WhatsApp is now testing the Liquid Glass redesign on iPad, bringing the same semi-transparent, glass-like interface elements that iPhone users have had access to since May. The update is in testing, and gives iPad users the same visual language introduced in iOS 26, though rollout remains limited to beta testers and select stable users for now. As noted by WABetaInfo, the redesign introduces several visual changes specific to iPadOS. The tab bar at the bottom of the screen now floats above the interface as a semi-transparent element rather than sitting flat against the edge, a hallmark of the Liquid Glass aesthetic. Buttons respond with fluid animations when tapped, and the navigation bar at the top responds to scrolling in the chat list by gradually becoming more transparent as users scroll down, making the content underneath visible. One notable difference from the iPhone version: iPad’s tab bar does not show text labels under the icons, relying instead on icons alone. Here are the details. WhatsApp continues Liquid Glass development across all Apple platforms As most WhatsApp users are probably aware, Meta’s rollout of the Liquid Glass redesign has been a long time coming. WhatsApp’s Liquid Glass redesign on iOS began last October, and only recently, users started seeing a broader rollout. Nearly a year and a half after bringing channel update search to Android, WhatsApp is now rolling out the feature to iPhone users. Here’s how it works. Search now available for WhatsApp channel updates As spotted by WABetaInfo , WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to search for specific updates within channels. Until now, finding a specific channel update required manually scrolling through its history. With the new feature, users can simply search for it, just as they would in a regular chat. The feature, which has been available to Android users since January 2025, can be accessed through the Search button on a channel’s details page. After searching for a word or phrase, users can use the up and down arrows to navigate between matching results. (ABC 6 News)–U.S. Rep. Brad Finstad sent a letter to the Minnesota Department of Education asking for a review of how certain instructional materials are being used in Rochester Public Schools. In a letter to state education leaders, Finstad raised concerns about curriculum materials connected to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Learning for Justice initiative, saying he wants more transparency on how the resources are incorporated into classrooms. Finstad said, “Our public schools in Rochester, and across the country, serve families from diverse political, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Parents and communities should have trust in their children’s public school curriculum. I’m calling on the Minnesota Department of Education to provide transparency and clear accounting of SPLC’s influence on the educational experience of our Rochester students.” The Minnesota Department of Education has not yet responded publicly to the request.
