Navi Mumbai civic body launches WhatsApp chatbot to streamline property tax and water bill services

As part of its continued focus on digital governance, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has taken another citizen-friendly step by launching a WhatsApp-based chatbot. This initiative, implemented under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde, aims to make municipal services more accessible through mobile devices, putting essential facilities just a tap away for city residents. Currently, citizens can pay their property tax or water bills via various online platforms including the official NMMC website (www.nmmc.gov.in), the My NMMC mobile app, and multiple digital payment modes like credit cards, debit cards, and popular UPI-based services such as Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm. Gelsomino injury ends Martell’s Škoda debut early – DirtFish

Conner Martell and Alex Gelsomino’s Southern Ohio Forest Rally is over after less than a mile due to an injury for co-driver Gelsomino. Making his first American Rally Association presented by Kubota National start in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 from 2C Compétition, Martell set the fastest time on the opening Yoctangee Street Stage by 0.1 seconds over Brandon Semenuk’s Open class Subaru. However the American driver missed the repeat run of the stage after Gelsomino experienced discomfort after landing on the stage’s famous jump. Gelsomino was later diagnosed with compression fractures of the T5 and T6 vertebrae, meaning his and Martell’s weekend is already over. “The doctor said I can’t get back in the rally car today,” Gelsomino wrote on social media. “The positives are that I don’t need surgery, and that Conner Martell and I won the stage where this unlucky mishap happened. “Big thanks to the emergency medical team at the rally and at the Adena Regional Hospital that took care of me last night. Also massive thanks to our team 2C Compétition and all our sponsors for the hard work and support, as well as the many that sent messages to check on me. “I’ll take a few

WhatsApp Supports Apple In Legal Battle With UK Government – Silicon UK

The head of WhatsApp, the widely used messaging platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platforms, has strongly backed Apple in its legal battle with the UK government. Speaking to the BBC, WhatsApp’s Will Cathcart reportedly said the case “could set a dangerous precedent” by “emboldening other nations” to seek to break encryption. The legal battle between Apple and the Home Office is due to the controversial UK Investigatory Powers Act of 2016 (otherwise known as the “Snoopers’ Charter”), which authorises UK law enforcement to compel assistance from tech companies when needed to collect evidence, even when data is encrypted. Apple TCN The issue began in February 2025 when UK security officials had issued a secret order called a Technical Capability Notice (TCN) that effectively ordered Apple to create a backdoor that would allow them to retrieve the encrypted content of any Apple user worldwide that has been uploaded to its iCloud service. The “Technical Capability Notice” requires blanket access, rather than just assistance to access a specific account. This British request immediately triggered privacy and security concerns, and two US lawmakers, wrote to US national intelligence director Tulsi Gabbard, asking her to demand the UK retracts its order.
