chili’s-and-tgi-friday’s-get-into-twitter-fight-over-mozzarella-sticks-–-b1039

Chili’s and TGI Friday’s Get into Twitter Fight Over Mozzarella Sticks – B1039

A Twitter battle broke out between Chili's and TGI Fridays on May 16, 2025. What started as a simple dig about cheese sticks turned into a nasty fight. "Somebody tell 🌶️ to stay in their lane. Y'all are not mozzarella stick people. We are. That's it. That's the tweet," posted TGI Fridays. Chili's fired back with a harsh response: "@ us next time. Also, we honestly didn't know you were still open Congrats!" said Chili's to Fox Business. The Twitter drama comes as TGI Fridays deals with bankruptcy proceedings from November. While 39 company-owned spots are closing, franchise locations stay open. Size is everything in this appetizer showdown. A food critic's review showed big differences - Chili's portion was about as big as a deck of cards, while Fridays' serving was smaller. Twitter users jumped in to take sides. Most backed Chili's, mentioning shuttered Fridays spots near them. Some noted seeing Chili's pop up where Fridays used to be. A fan brought up a Chili's menu favorite: "They never have triple dip, and that, they will envy you forever." The chain clapped back: "They can never triple dip excellence." The chains come from different backgrounds. TGI Fridays first opened in

Online Reactions to FAMU Electing Marva Johnson as President – The Root

Welp... It’s happening. After concerns that historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are being attacked by President Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda, one of the most prestigious HBCUs in the deep South has selected a new president with direct ties to the MAGA movement. Suggested Reading Celia Rose Gooding Talks Strange New Worlds & If She'd Fly In An Elon Musk Rocket Suggested Reading Florida A&M University’s board selected Marva Johnson as its 13th president. She has no direct ties to any HBCU or any experience in higher education, but that’s not even the best part! To make matters worse, Johnson previously served as a co-chair on one of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ transition committees and was Board of Education chair for eight years under former Governor Rick Scott, according to her FAMU bio . To sum it up, Johnson, a Black woman, is a well-known MAGA ally, and folks are pissed. “To be considered for the opportunity to lead this storied institution is the honor of a lifetime,” Johnson wrote in a statement. “I will approach this role with bold vision − focused on student success, innovation, and national prominence − while building strong bridges with the FAMU community and

Spartans Clinch Spot in Mountain West Championship With Win Over Nevada

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Kyle Calzadiaz allowed one earned run across eight innings pitched and Jake McCoy went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run to lead the San José State baseball team (26-28, 13-17 MW) in a 10-2 victory over Nevada (33-21, 19-11 MW) at Excite Ballpark on Saturday afternoon in the final game of a three game series. With the win, the Spartans clinched a spot in the Mountain West Baseball Championship. Calzadiaz (2–2) earned the win with a masterful performance on the mound, going eight strong innings while allowing just two runs (one earned) on seven hits and striking out seven without a walk. Offensively, the Spartans erupted for 13 hits, including a decisive six-run fifth inning that broke the game open.  The Spartans took an early lead on Zach Tallerman’s two-run homer in the second. However, Nevada tied things up with two runs of their own in the third. McCoy put the Spartans back in front with a home run to leadoff the fourth. In the fifth, extra base hits from McCoy and Zach Chamizo, as well as a two-run home run by Jeriah Lewis, allowed the Spartans to score six runs in the inning
