X May Lose Up to $75 Million in Revenue as More Advertisers Pull Out

X, the social media company formerly known as Twitter, could lose as much as $75 million in advertising revenue by the end of the year as dozens of major brands pause their marketing campaigns after its owner, Elon Musk, endorsed an antisemitic conspiracy theory this month.Internal documents viewed by The New York Times this week show that the company is in a more difficult position than previously known and that concerns about Mr. Musk and the platform have spread far beyond companies including IBM, Apple and Disney, which paused their advertising campaigns on X last week. The documents list more than 200 ad units of companies from the likes of Airbnb, Amazon, Coca-Cola and Microsoft, many of which have halted or are considering pausing their ads on the social network. The documents come from X’s sales team and are meant to track the impact of all the advertising lapses this month, including those by companies that have already paused and others that may be at risk of doing so. They list how much ad revenue X employees fear the company could lose through the end of the year if advertisers do not return. On Friday, X said in a statement that $11

Twitter reacts to Dolly Parton's halftime show in Cowboys-Commanders

The halftime acts from Thanksgiving 2023 have received a lot of conversation over the course of the week. The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys host Thanksgiving every year, so more than any team that gets the evening window, they are professionals at the process. The Lions went new school with rapper Jack Harlow. Reception to his performance was… not ideal. The Cowboys went classic, bringing out Dolly Parton. While most of the online audience questioned whether or not the country music icon had songs they were familiar with, she certainly captivated the audience when she came out dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Here were some of the best twitter reactions. No way Dolly is 83 years old Thats A.I. — Ashley Baker🗣🎙✨ (@AshleyBaker_21) November 23, 2023 Starting with Jolene??? We don't deserve Dolly. — Bill Barnwell (@billbarnwell) November 23, 2023 Nah why is Dolly Parton snatched — Skywalker Steele (@SkywalkerSteele) November 23, 2023 Holy shit!!! Dolly Parton Lights Up Twitter Following NFL Halftime Show in Dallas – American Songwriter

The 77-year-old country star took center stage during the Thanksgiving Day game and impressed fans of all ages for being ageless. Parton, looking stunning in a revealing crop top, white hot pants, and her blonde hair done up, sang for the tens of thousands of fans on hand in Dallas at the Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. Fans can check out footage of her appearance below. The game, which featured the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders, was broadcast on CBS. Following the performance, in which Parton covered the Queen song “We Are the Champions,” “Dolly” and “She’s 77” were trending on social media. Parton teased her appearance on social media, writing on Twitter, “Today is the day! See you at the #RedKettleKickoff halftime show! @dallascowboys @cbssports“ The performance from Parton, which is on the heels of her releasing her latest LP, Rockstar, came after many fans poked fun at rapper Jack Harlow for his not so endearing halftime show during the earlier game between the Detroit Lions and

Seattle Seahawks violently disrespect Russell Wilson with Twitter post

The Seattle Seahawks, on Wednesday, violently disrespected the best player in their franchise's history with an extremely petty post on Twitter. This is actually insane and a slap in the face to Russell Wilson, who made that franchise relevant. On Twitter, (or X) the Seahawks posted a flashback to a 2014 Thanksgiving Day game. For context, they play on Thanksgiving this year against the San Francisco 49ers. Well, back in 2014, they bested the 49ers on a Thanksgiving Day game. Here's what the team tweeted out, in a huge disrespect to Russell Wilson:🍽️ https://t.co/0vGogY1PBZ pic.twitter.com/LZtVWJZeFI— Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) November 21, 2023The post they put out is former CB Richard Sherman munching on a giant turkey leg. It's become a tradition in the NFL for the teams who win on Thanksgiving to enjoy a feast while being interviewed by the media. That's what Sherman was doing, but take a look at the entire picture:The Seahawks are a poverty franchise man https://t.co/OiEXgMZXlh pic.twitter.com/h9iZ8RmT1X— Michael 🇲🇽 (@RespectMyCos) November 22, 2023Who is that man on the left? Well, it's none other than former Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, who threw for 236 yards and one touchdown in the Seahawks 19-3 win on Thanksgiving. This was the

Ubisoft has 'paused' advertising on Twitter – PC Gamer

News (Image credit: Getty Images) Ubisoft has confirmed that it has joined other major companies who have paused advertising on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, following a Media Matters report which claims that the platform has been running ads for companies including Apple, IBM, NBCUniversal, and Comcast owner Xfinity next to pro-Nazi content. X denies that regular users will see such ads next to extremist content, claiming that Media Matters intentionally manipulated a feed to produce that result. The list of companies who have halted activity on X is long and potentially extremely damaging for a platform struggling with a decline in advertising revenues: IBM, Apple, Disney, Warner Bros, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Xfinity, Sony, and others have all opted to stop running ads, at least temporarily.Ubisoft is the first major game publisher we're aware of that's made the move. A rep confirmed the decision, first reported by Axios, in a statement provided to PC Gamer, although no further details, including a reason for the pause, were shared. According to the Axios report, Ubisoft had been running ads for Assassin's Creed Nexus VR on X.X owner Elon Musk's tenure at the head of the company has seen a rapid

Paris Hilton's media company suspends ads on Musk's Twitter – Los Angeles Daily News

By Liam Reilly and Clare Duffy | CNN Paris Hilton’s entertainment company 11:11 Media has pulled an advertising campaign from Elon Musk’s X just one month after announcing an exclusive partnership with the platform, becoming the latest brand to halt ad spending on the site formerly known as Twitter over concerns about antisemitism and pro-Nazi content on the site. “11:11 Media made the decision to immediately pull the campaign from the platform,” Bruce Gersh, 11:11 Media’s president and chief operating officer, told CNN on Tuesday. The decision by Hilton’s company to pull its advertising is a blow to X and the platform’s chief executive, Linda Yaccarino, who announced a major promotional partnership with Hilton just last month. The deal, which was touted by Yaccarino as a long-term, “official partnership” between Hilton, 11:11 Media, and X, aimed to create “a launchpad for new initiatives in video and live video, live commerce, Spaces, and so much more.” The deal also established a revenue-sharing agreement between the parties. Yaccarino, a former NBCUniversal advertising chief who has been tasked with wooing wary advertisers back to X despite Musk’s tumultuous leadership, declared Hilton the “queen of pop culture” and described the partnership as “a new era” that would reside exclusively on X. A spokesperson for Hilton declined to comment on whether the suspension of 11:11’s ad campaign also

Elon Musk's X/Twitter Sues Media Matters After Advertiser Exodus – Variety

Elon Musk, as promised, is hauling Media Matters into court — alleging the liberal watchdog group “knowingly and maliciously manufactured” images depicting neo-Nazi and white-nationalist posts on X next to major marketers’ ads. The complaint seeks unspecified monetary damages, as well as an injunction requiring Media Matters to “immediately delete, take down or otherwise remove” the article titled “As Musk endorses antisemitic conspiracy theory, X has been placing ads for Apple, Bravo, IBM, Oracle, and Xfinity next to pro-Nazi content.” Media Matters reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the suit. On Nov. 16, Media Matters released research finding that five major brands — Apple, IBM, NBCUniversal’s Bravo, Oracle and Comcast’s Xfinity — had their ads run next to posts that “tout Hitler and his Nazi Party” on X. A day later, Media Matters published a report claiming that it found ads for Amazon, NBA Mexico, NBCUniversal Catalyst, Action Network and Club for Growth next to white nationalist hashtags like “KeepEuropeWhite,” “white pride,” and “WLM” (“White Lives Matter”). According to X’s lawsuit, Media Matters aimed to portray the Musk-owned social platform “as being dominated by ‘white nationalist and antisemitic conspiracy theories,'” per the complaint. “This November

Neil Young Is Done With X & Elon Musk: 'We Are Taking Action Against His Company'

Neil Young is taking a stand against Elon Musk. On Monday (Nov. 20), the rock icon revealed that he will no longer be supporting X, formerly known as Twitter, and urged Palestinian and Jewish people to band together in light of the war between Israel and Hamas. “We are stopping all use of X that we can control,” Young wrote in a statement posted to his website. “For reasons that should be obvious to the richest man on Earth, we are taking action against his company.” The post featured an image of Musk with the text “Tesla should fly flags of love, not hate” written over the billionaire’s face. The statement continued, “For our many Palestinian friends and our many Jewish friends, we do need to start over in the present and release our terrible connections to the past. As bad as they are, they need to be forgotten so we can be free to move on in life together, all humanity, focused on saving our planet for future generations of all people.” Young’s statement comes after the tech mogul approved of a Friday tweet that accused Jewish people facing antisemitism due to the Israel-Hammas war of furthering the “exact
