Fox News Tells Tucker Carlson His New Twitter Show Violates Contract: Reports

Fox News accused its former prime-time star Tucker Carlson of breaching his contract after he launched a new opinion show on Twitter this week, according to Axiosand Mediaite. Both media outlets said that lawyers for Fox News sent a letter to Carlson setting up a possible legal showdown.Carlson’s new show, a 10-minute tour of various conspiracy theories, launched Tuesday on the platform now controlled by right-wing billionaire Elon Musk. The host promised to be back with “much more, very soon.” (His home in Maine has a full production studio.)He was dumped from Fox in the wake of the devastating legal settlement reached in mid-April with Dominion Voting Systems, which had sued for $1.6 billion alleging the network knowingly spewed damaging lies about its machinery as it spread false claims that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” from Donald Trump. Fox agreed to fork over $787 million to avoid a potentially humiliating trial. The network announced the following week that Carlson would be leaving, although it did not give an explanation.According to Axios, Carlson accused Fox News of breaching its side of his contract in May, setting his lawyers up to argue that a noncompete provision in the contract was no longer valid.

Twitter Blue subscribers now have more time to edit tweets | Mashable

Editing your tweets, if you can do it at all, has become a bit less restrictive. On Wednesday, Twitter's official Twitter Blue account said that Twitter Blue subscribers now have up to one hour to edit their tweets. Tweet may have been deleted (opens in a new tab) Initially, users could only edit their tweets within 30 minutes of posting. Twitter's help document(opens in a new tab) for Twitter Blue now also says that the feature now has a "1 hour window to make a limited number of changes to published tweets." The ability to edit tweets was one of the most requested changes on Twitter for years, and while it finally launched in 2022, it's only available as a perk for people willing to pay the $7.99 Twitter Blue monthly subscription price. Other perks include the ability to post longer tweets, get prioritized ranking in conversations and search, and see fewer ads on the platform. For all its controversy – mainly due to Twitter's decade-long insistence on not adding the feature – the ability to edit tweets doesn't appear to have caused many issues, which is probably why Twitter has now relaxed the rules around it a little.

Don't Overlook Twitter's Trove of Threat Intel for Enterprise Cybersecurity – Dark Reading

Tagged, organized, and free for anyone who wants it, social media posts and data are an underused threat intelligence resource for many enterprise cybersecurity teams.Just as cybercriminals have found social media platforms useful for gathering information on targets and launching attacks, network defenders should likewise be looking at Twitter and other similar public-facing social media data sources, so called open source intelligence (OSINT), to help inform cyber defenses, according to experts."Social media and other digital platforms are invaluable resources for gathering intelligence on external cyber threats, because it is often one of the earliest indicators of trouble brewing," AJ Nash, vice president of Intelligence at ZeroFox, explains to Dark Reading. "Waiting until a threat materializes to the point where it sets off an alert in your SOC might mean it's too late to stop it — a truly proactive security posture includes leveraging data from digital platforms to stay ahead of these threats."Igal Iytzki with Perception Point himself uses Twitter and Reddit to share threat intelligence and advises cybersecurity teams to utilize social media as part of their overall strategy."There is a lot of threat intelligence being posted on public platforms every day that businesses can tap into," Iytzki explains to

Jill Sennett made a Twitter post in May 2020. Casey Serrano commented on it, and they met in person awkwardly at first.  Exactly three years later, the two got married in Spain.  Loading Something is loading. Thanks for signing up! Access your favorite topics in a personalized feed while you're on the go. This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Jill Sennett. It has been edited for length and clarity. In May 2020 I was bored out of my mind and frustrated. I was living in Philadelphia and working as an oncology nurse at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Working with kids who have cancer all day and then coming home to an empty apartment was draining. The guy I was trying to date was staunch about COVID precautions and refused to see me in person. So, one night I turned to Twitter. I posted a selfie with the caption, "Do any celebrities want to marry me? I'm single." I tagged the band Hozier, who I had been listening to nonstop during quarantine. I knew the tweet wouldn't reach Hozier, and I wasn't interested in marrying a celebrity. I was just bored, frustrated with my nonexistent love life, and a bit tipsy.
