LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State was held in check for most of Friday night's series opener at Presley Askew Field at Johnson Stadium, falling 10-2 to nationally-ranked UTSA.   The Roadrunners built an early cushion with two unearned runs in the second and a four‑run fourth, then added insurance with runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth.   The Aggies were limited to two hits through eight innings before finally breaking through in the ninth after a brief pause in the game due to a power outage. The 22-year-old joins Cincinatti for the remainder of the 2026 Major League Soccer season. Mrozek, a Poland youth international, has had two previous loan spells, with IF Brommapojkarna and Forest Green Rovers respectively. He arrived at the Reds' Academy from FC Wroclaw in August 2020 and has been in the matchday squad for the senior team on six occasions to date. The No. 10 Nebraska softball team grabbed two victories over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits by scores of 9-4 and 8-1 (five innings) on Thursday in the home opener at Bowlin Stadium. A five-run second inning powered Nebraska to an 8-0, walk-off, five-inning win over South Dakota State in the second game of the doubleheader on Thursday. With two wins today, NU moved to 16-5 on the season. Jordy Frahm and Kacie Hoffmann each notched two hits for the Husker offense, while Hannah Camenzind added two RBI. Ava Kuszak, Hoffmann and Bella Bacon each hit a home run. Bacon’s was the walk-off solo shot that ended the game in five innings. Frahm (5-3) grabbed the win in the circle after throwing five innings with no runs and only five hits, while striking out nine batters.  Kuszak reached on an error to open the bottom of the second inning and Hoffmann homered to make the score 2-0. The lawsuit was filed in October 2022 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of Twitter shareholders who sold the stock between May 13 and Oct. 4, 2022, a few weeks before Musk’s purchase of Twitter was finalized. It claims Musk violated federal securities laws by making false, public statements that “were carefully calculated to drive down the price of Twitter stock.” The billionaire Tesla CEO reached a deal to buy Twitter and take it private in April 2022. On May 13, however, he declared his plan “temporarily on hold” and said he needs to pinpoint the number of spam and fake accounts on the platform. Twitter’s stock tumbled as a result. A few days later, he tweeted that the deal “cannot go forward” and claimed that almost 20% of Twitter accounts were “fake,” according to the lawsuit.

The Wildcats and Spartans will meet for the second time this season after Arizona secured a 4-1 victory over Michigan State at the Diablo Invite on Saturday. The all-time series between the programs is at 2-1 in their last meetings, with Monday's matchup marking the first time the teams will face off in Tucson. Last season, the Spartans claimed a 4-1 win in Lansing. Arizona enters the match with four ranked singles players,  Jay Friend  at No. 5,  Alexander Rozin  at No. 54,  Filip Gustafsson  at No. 88 and  Zoran Ludoski  at No. 97.
