CBC News obtained a letter on Wednesday evening signed by Mylènene Girou, senior director, enforcement at the office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections, sent via email to Freeland, who served as deputy prime minister in Justin Trudeau's government.  "Our Office has carefully reviewed the Twitter post and video in question and we are of the view that no offence has been committed under the Act," the letter says in closing. "As a result, our file is now closed." The tweets in question posted by Freeland on Aug. 22 in English and French contained edited video footage of O'Toole quickly responding "yes" to a question about whether he would bring private, "for-profit" health care to Canada. Checks by our correspondents showed that as of Wednesday night, access to the microblogging site had been restored through computer systems. However, trials via the mobile phone were not successful. The Federal Government had on June 4 announced the indefinite suspension of the operations of the microblogging and social networking platform in the country, days after Twitter deleted a tweet by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), which it said violated its rules. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had cited ‘the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence’ as the reason for the suspension. The publisher of comics such as Kick-Ass, Jupiter's Legacy, and the recently announced King of Spies in conjunction with Netflix will be shifting away from using Twitter as a platform, and instead focusing on their own newsletter. Millarworld represents a major publishing arm of Netflix, when in 2017, the streaming giant acquired Millarworld and has been making some exciting joint publishing/streaming announcements. After the acquisition, Netflix announced the publication of The Magic Order, Prodigy, and Sharkey the Bounty Hunter, the last of which was announced in 2018 and published in 2019. With Millarworld moving entirely under the control of Netflix (but with Millar himself still hard at work creating comics), any announcement concerning Millarworld is bound to draw attention. Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Square and Twitter, tweeted on Friday that his payment company, Square’s new division, which is focused on creating an open developer platform, is planning to build a decentralized Bitcoin exchange. “TBD54566975” would be focused on building a decentralized exchange for Bitcoin (BTC). “We’ve determined @ TBD54566975’s direction: help us build an open platform to create a decentralized exchange for #Bitcoin,” Dorsey stated in the tweet.
