The Kentucky Wildcats are 1-5 for the first time since the 1926-27 season, as they suffered their fifth-straight loss today after falling 75-63 to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the CBS Sports Classic. Kentucky could not stay out of foul trouble as Lance Ware and Isaiah Jackson both fouled out with over six minutes left to play, Olivier Sarr fouled out with just over 4:30 to play, and Terrence Clarke fouled out with a minute left. Despite the foul trouble, Kentucky took the lead into halftime (38-34), but the Tar Heels out scored the Cats 41-25 in the second half to pick up the victory. With the loss, UK’s NCAA Tournament hopes took yet another hit as they’re now 1-5 and have lost all four of their games against non-power five opponents so far this season. According to Cleveland.com, the bill now must pass the Senate before heading to the desk of Governor Mike DeWine. If the bill were to pass and be signed into law, Ohio would become the 36th state that would no longer require a ‘duty to retreat’ before using force. Following the passing of the bill, Elizabeth Banks took to Twitter with threaded commentary on the subject. She referenced a time when she would play hide-and-seek in neighbors’ yards with friends a child. One evening, a resident who mistook the children for intruders used a bow and arrow to try and scare them away. In May, a Twitter thread by 11-year-old Emerson Weber’s father Hugh about her love of letter writing and a thank-you note to her postal carrier, Doug, went viral, garnering over 70,000 likes, over 40,000 retweets and major media attention from CNN and Good Morning America, among others. The ode to snail mail led to a new book, Sincerely, Emerson: A Girl, Her Letter, and the Helpers All Around Us (HarperCollins), illustrated by Jaclyn Sinquett, which was published last week, with a first print run of 50,000 copies.
