There shouldn’t be any question as to whether or not Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry owns the Jacksonville Jaguars — he’s compiled a rich history of having them on a collar and a tight leash. Saturday was senior day at Beaver Stadium. While it did not feature the norm celebrations a senior day holds, it did not make it any less of a special day for the Nittany Lion seniors. Especially with the team picking up a 39-24 victory over Michigan State. The 2020 group of seniors included a pair of redshirt senior defensive linemen — Shane Simmons and Antonio Shelton — who had strong showings. For both Simmons and Shelton, their strong games began on the game’s opening drive when Simmons for his first sack and Shelton is first tackle for a loss. The most popular topics discussed were diversity, mental health, the university’s handling of COVID-19, on-campus parking and students not wearing masks and not social distancing at football and basketball games.  Several accounts complained about the university not speaking up more about the Black Lives Matter movement, and not supporting the LGBTQ community. @TomoyaAverett said: “Y’all can put as many minority students as you want on posters and ads but until y’all can prove that you are committed to making USU a safe and welcoming environment for more than just white LDS students, I’m not buying it.” Some users griped about the mental health options offered on campus. The Defense Department is looking for open-source intelligence software with access to at least 50 million websites and the ability to ingest data from sources like social media to create graphics—including location maps—for analysis in real time, according to a new solicitation. Open-source intelligence, or OSINT, refers to intelligence produced from publicly available information. This can include information like location data, which is often collected from smartphone apps and social media sites. The Defense and intelligence communities have used OSINT for decades, but the advent of the internet and social media has greatly increased the amount of public data available for collection and intelligence analysis.  The DOD solicitation, which was published Thursday on beta.SAM.gov by the Pentagon’s Washington Headquarters Service, is focused largely on Twitter, the only social media platform the solicitation explicitly names. The solicitation is a small business set aside specifically asking for software fulfilling five requirement program elements and 12 characteristics. The vendor must be able to alert the government via its platform and through email messages, access at least 50 million unique websites, be a “vetted Official Twitter Partner,” provide the entire Twitter historical archive for analysis and be able to handle data in at least 150 languages. The complete…

Well, apparently there’s data to confirm what we all have been thinking: Michiganders miss going out to eat more than residents of any other state. That's according to geotagged Twitter data over the last three months. The data tracked tweets and keyword phrases about how people miss dining out amid the COVID-19 pandemic, either by their own choice or by local and state restrictions. For example, "I miss dining out," "I miss eating out," "I miss going out to eat," "I miss going to dinner," etc., were tracked. More than 240,000 tweets were used to compile the data. According to the map compiled by the food and cooking site thedaringkitchen.com, the upper midwest and western states seem to miss dining out the most, with Michigan being the top state.
