Got angry that this might reflect poorly on him. After Bears' loss, former players vent on Twitter

Several former Bears players took to Twitter in frustration after the team’s 34-30 loss Sunday to the Lions, with at least one wondering whether the franchise will fire coach Matt Nagy before the end of the season. ‘‘I saw some . . . firings in my time in Chicago none of which happened mid season,’’ wrote former offensive lineman Kyle Long, who retired after the Bears put him on injured reserve last season. ‘‘I wonder what the tipping point is and who ultimately makes the decision.’’ Former running back Matt Forte encouraged the Bears to ‘‘just throw the whole offense away . . . Coaches included!’’ As for general manager Ryan Pace, Forte wrote that ‘‘football starts in the trenches bruh,’’ a reference to Pace not devoting a single first-round pick to an offensive or defensive lineman during his tenure. I saw some firings and firings in my time in Chicago none of which happened mid season. I wonder what the tipping point is and who ultimately makes the decision.— Kyle (@Ky1eLong) December 6, 2020 Forte pointed out that coach Lovie Smith, whom he played for, won 10 games in 2012 and still was fired. He sounded as though he felt bad for the…

Rams players celebrate Week 13 win on Twitter: 'Big division dub!'

The Cardinals are by no means an easy opponent, having Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins, as well as Patrick Peterson and Budda Baker on the defensive side of the ball. But the Rams went into the Cardinals’ place on Sunday and dominated them, winning the game 38-28 on the road. It wasn’t even as close as the score indicates, either, as Arizona scored a touchdown in garbage time to draw within 10 points. For the most part, the Rams controlled this Week 13 matchup from the second quarter on. Afterwards, Rams players took to Twitter to celebrate the victory. Cooper Kupp and Jalen Ramsey were among those to share their thoughts, while Nick Scott shared some words of encouragement for Matt Gay after his 37-yard miss. Former Rams great Torry Holt pointed out that Jared Goff now has 41 wins in four seasons, too, which is quite impressive. Big division dub! Timely and complementary football. Big time response. Twitter suspends liberal anti-Modi journalist Salil Tripathi for violating rules

Twitter has suspended the account of liberal political commentator and journalist Salil Tripathi for violating its rules. It is not yet clear why his account was suspended or what rules he violated. He tweets under the username @saliltripathi. Salil Tripathi suspended by Twitter It is not known whether Twitter mistakenly suspended Salil Tripathi. Given the fact that Tripathi is an anti-Modi liberal and not a non-left voice on the platform, it is very much possible that it was unintentional and the account could be restored very soon in that case. Liberals on the platform are quite distressed at the development as it is highly unusual for a person of liberal political inclinations to be suspended despite violating rules. Some suggested that Salil Tripathi might have been suspended for posting a poem on Babri Masjid demolition. Today is the 28 year anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure at Ram Janmabhoomi. Was Salil Tripathi’s account suspended for a poem on Babri demolition @Twitter? What rule did it break?— Samrat X সম্রাট (@MrSamratX) December 6, 2020 Rahul Gandhi fan Sanjukta Basu suggested that the suspension could be the result of a ‘technical glitch’. “This must be a mistake,” she said. What…

Here's what the American power players are talking about on Twitter.  1. Journalism on Journalism "We journalists should have been tougher on Mr. Trump, questioning his every lie and insult," writes @jorgeramosnews. "We should not have let him get away with his racism and xenophobia." https://t.co/51ft4lzyXl — New York Times Opinion (@nytopinion) December 4, 2020 Speak for yourself. Some of us have pushed hard against every lie. Some of us pushed back from day one. Even when others would not. Some of us fought him in court - and won repeatedly. Inaccurate to say otherwise. https://t.co/ljTSQISuHr — Jim Acosta (@Acosta) December 5, 2020 They are only getting loud now that Trump lost. Twitter weighs in on whether Trump could be banned after leaving office

Once President-elect Joe Biden assumes office on Inauguration Day, Twitter could remove President Trump’s special privileges as a high-profile world leader and treat his account as a normal one.Twitter confirmed reports that a change in the account’s status could lead to harsher enforcement actions – although a spokesman said the policy was nothing new.The platform has a public interest exemption for the accounts of world leaders, whose words are generally newsworthy and important for their citizens to read, even if they violate the rules. Letitia Wright faced a Twitter backlash on Thursday night after posting a link to a YouTube video questioning whether people should take any prospective COVID-19 vaccine and the safety of vaccines generally. The Black Panther star tweeted a video from On The Table, a YouTube discussion channel, where the presenter opined at length about the efficacy of vaccines, the dangers of taking them and the supposed origins of the ingredients of a COVID-19 vaccine.  "I don't understand vaccines medically, but I've always been a little bit of a skeptic of them," the presenter Tomi Arayomi says towards the beginning of his fact-free monologue which was full of personal anecdotes and his own feelings on vaccines generally. After Wright had posted the video to Twitter with the prayer hands emoji, she quickly became embroiled in arguments with users taking her to task for using her platform to spread misinformation on vaccines. The British actress, who is currently starring in Steve McQueen's acclaimed Small Axe anthology…
