Fans take to Twitter to weigh in on Wisconsin Badgers' victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions

Fans take to Twitter to weigh in on Wisconsin Badgers' victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions Here's what fans were saying after the Badgers improved to 2-0 on the season: Hungry for more The exhibition season is over. Bring on the meat of the schedule! — Rob Hernandez (@RobHernandezGLF) November 28, 2020 Ready for a reboot Doesn't this remind you of 2014-15 when starters plus 2 was the norm? Beyond top 7 there was not a lot of playing time for others, (other than the injury to Jackson that caused some changes). Very similar squad here. #MakeEmBelieve — JM_Wisconsin (@Jeff85257) November 28, 2020 Nothing comes easy I know this was an easy match up but saw good things, especially from Potter. Excitement for this season continues to grow. Stay healthy, gents. — BethAnn Meier (@BAMeier) November 28, 2020 Seems a bit high Arkansas-Pine Bluff is one of about 50 teams that has absolutely no business being in Division 1. In reality, they are about the 400th best team in college basketball. — Simon R. Gillham (@Busdude671) November 28, 2020 Bring on the big dogs! Looked good but hard to asses realistically until they play a better opponent. Last 10 min…

The company said some verified accounts could lose their blue tick status as part of the revamp, which could remove the badge from inactive or incomplete accounts. Under proposed new rules, Twitter said it would look to verify six main types of account: those aligned with government; companies, brands and non-profit organisations; news; entertainment; sports; and activists, organisers and other "influential individuals". It said these parameters could be broadened over time, but acknowledged it wanted to cut the number of verified accounts. "We recognise that there are many verified accounts on Twitter who should not be," a Twitter blog post said. Twitter reacts to Mike McCarthy's catastrophic 4th down decision during Cowboys' Thanksgiving …

Nov 1, 2020; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy during the first quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Mandatory Credit: Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy isn’t winning any popularity contests among fans, and his failed fourth down decisions on Thanksgiving Day against NFC East rival Washington set Twitter ablaze with harsh criticism. Social media is already a cold place in arctic reality for anyone under the microscope as a public figure, and McCarthy wasn’t spared when he and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore decided to dial up a pass play in which Andy Dalton threw incomplete to CeeDee Lamb in the second quarter. A simple run with Ezekiel Elliott probably would’ve done the job. Spoiler alert: the fourth-down McCarthyisms got worse later on as the Cowboys wound up routed by a score of 41-16 to fall to 3-8, one game behind Washington (4-7) for the NFC East lead. Twitter reacts to 1st Mike McCarthy blunder Worse yet, the first turnover on downs came at Dallas’ own 34 yard-line, and tight end Dalton Schultz exacerbated the situation by drawing a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty. Predictably, this sequence of unfortunate events led…

death-sought-for-japan-“twitter-killer”-over-2017-serial-murder

Death sought for Japan “Twitter killer” over 2017 serial murder

Prosecutors on Thursday demanded the death penalty for a man dubbed Japan's "Twitter killer" after he was indicted over the 2017 serial murder of nine people who had posted suicidal thoughts on social media, a high-profile case that shocked the nation. In a lay judge trial at the Tachikawa branch of the Tokyo District Court, prosecutors sought the death penalty for Takahiro Shiraishi, 30, who pleaded guilty to murdering, dismembering and storing the bodies of the nine in his apartment near Tokyo. Flowers and drinks are seen on Nov. 20, 2017 on a street near the apartment complex in Zama, near Tokyo, where nine dismembered bodies were found in late October at the home of suspect Takahiro Shiraishi. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo "Nine young lives were taken in such a short period of two months," a prosecutor said, adding that his crimes "deserve death." Prosecutors also pointed out that there was no way the victims consented to being killed based on Shiraishi's testimony that they resisted when being strangled. Throughout the trial, Shiraishi maintained "there was no consent" given by his victims, but his defense lawyers argued that he had their tacit approval as they met after sending direct messages to the…

Twitter is rebooting its verification system, and it could put Trump's blue check mark in jeopardy

SAUL LOEB/AFP via Getty Images Twitter announced Tuesday it's relaunching its public application program for verified status, marked by a blue check. The program was paused in 2017 after Twitter granted the verified blue check-mark to one of the organizers of the white supremacist Charlottesville rally, sparking outrage. Twitter has now proposed a set of new policies for the program, which include the possibility that accounts have their blue check-marks taken away if they repeatedly break Twitter's rules. This means President Donald Trump, who will in January lose his "world leader" protections for rule violations in January, could be in danger of losing his verified status if he continues to tweet the way he has done in the past. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. Twitter is rebooting its verification system, and the proposed new guidelines could see persistent rule-breakers stripped of their coveted blue check-marks.Twitter gives "verified" status to selected accounts belonging to public figures and organizations, signified by a blue check mark next to their account name. The system has been on ice for three years, but the company announced Tuesday its application process for verified status would relaunch in early 2021.The company is asking for user…
