Elon Musk claims work will be 'optional' with the rise of AI and robots X Corp., owned by Elon Musk, has filed a lawsuit against the startup Operation Bluebird in a Delaware federal court. Operation Bluebird sought to cancel X's 'Twitter' trademarks, claiming the company had abandoned them after rebranding the social media platform to X. The startup intended to use the 'Twitter' name for a new rival social media platform it planned to launch. X Corp. argues that its Twitter brand is still 'alive and well' and that a rebrand does not equate to an abandonment of trademark rights. Operation Bluebird's founder, Michael Peroff, stated they are prepared to take the legal challenge as far as necessary to achieve their goal. (Chris Pizzello | Invision via AP) Filmmaker Rob Reiner, shown in 2018, was a vocal critic of President Donald Trump. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox and two of his predecessors warned against the corrosion of political debate — including former Gov. Gary Herbert, who leveled specific criticism Monday at a social media post by Donald Trump that blamed the alleged slaying of noted director Rob Reiner on “deranged” hatred of the president. Reiner and his wife, Michelle, were found dead in their Los Angeles-area home Sunday night with stab wounds. The couple’s son Nick later was arrested on suspicion of murder. Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday that their deaths were “reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.” Asked by reporters if he stood by the post, Trump said that Reiner — a vocal Trump critic and the director of classic movies such as “This Is Spinal Tap,” “When Harry Met Sally” and “The Princess Bride” —

Cohen’s articles from Cohen IP are most popular: within Intellectual Property topic(s) with Finance and Tax Executives in United States with readers working within the Retail & Leisure industries We all remember the monumental shift of Twitter to "X" after Elon Musk made the controversial acquisition of the social media company in 2022. So when a big tech company changes its name overnight, it can have more than just cosmetic effects. A new cancellation petition filed with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) this week shows just how high the stakes are. Operation Bluebird, Inc., a startup in Virginia, has started a cancellation proceeding against X Corp. It wants to take away the company's rights to the TWITTER and TWEET trademarks because it says they have been abandoned and, in some cases, because the company committed fraud on the USPTO. This case is unusual not only because of the mark's fame, but also because it tests the legal consequences of Elon Musk's very public rebranding strategy, which was meant to move away from anything "Twitter" or "bird-related." Here is a list of the accusations, what the TTAB will look at, and what this means for brand owners

It was a disappointing outing for the Patriots, as they allowed a 21-point lead to slip from their grasp. Quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills came roaring back in the second half of the game to hand the Patriots their first loss since September. Advertisement Buffalo outscored New England by a 28-7 margin in the second half on their way to a pivotal divisional win. Josh Allen went 19-of-28 passing for 193 yards and three touchdowns in the game, while Maye was held to 14-of-23 passing for 155 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. The story of the game was the Patriots' inability to stop the Bills' ground game. Running back James Cook racked up 22 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns to help snap the Patriots' 10-game winning streak. The game was basically a tale of two halves with the Patriots blowing up the scoreboard early and playing tough against the run. However, in the second half, they got run into the ground and failed to get anything going on offense, outside of rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson's

A petition filed earlier this month with the US Patent and Trademark Office by the startup Operation Bluebird seeks to cancel the registration for the Twitter and Tweet marks, among others. Operation Bluebird petitioned to cancel the marks on the basis that X Corp. has "legally abandoned its rights in the Twitter brand, with no intention to resume use of them," the petition, first reported by Reuters and Ars Technica, says. As social media users may recall, billionaire Elon Musk purchased Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion. Shortly after, he announced that "Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app" and made several updates that significantly changed the look and feel of the platform. Other key moments arrived in summer 2023, when Musk announced that X.com would redirect to twitter.com and an X logo replaced the beloved blue bird symbol. The petition also notably references Musk's 2023 post, "And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually
