DWC and House Democrats Urge National Women’s Soccer League to Uphold Collective …

Washington, December 11, 2025 WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Whip Emily Randall (WA-06), Reproductive Freedom Task Force Co-Chair and Liaison Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), and DWC member Kathy Castor (FL-14) led 39 DWC members and House Democrats in a letter to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) expressing serious concern about their decision to reject the Washington Spirit’s contract agreement with Trinity Rodman. The National Women's Soccer League Players Association (NWSLPA) asserts that the rejection of the contract violates their collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and infringes on free agency rights . Congress maintains an oversight responsibility to ensure employers comply with federal labor law, including the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), which codifies the policy of the United States to promote and protect collective bargaining. Fair treatment of Rodman is not only essential for her case, but for the precedent it sets and for confidence in the NWSL’s governance. All women—including women athletes—deserve fair pay and to be treated well at work. In their letter, the Members explained the historic nature of the NWSL’s CBA: “Following years of advocacy from players and communities, the most recent CBA reached between the NWSL and the NWSLPA marked a historic step forward

Both are prominent critics of Twitter (also known as “X”), the social media site owned by on-again-off-again Trump pal, Elon Musk. Per a draft for an action memo outlining options for Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the administration is weighing a move to revoke the visas of Former European Union Commissioner Thierry Breton and Imran Ahmed, CEO and founder of the Center for Countering Digital Hate. The move would mark one of the administration’s first attempts to revoke the visas of people they deem to be engaging in the “censorship” of Americans. Just last week, the State Department reportedly directed officials to screen out applicants for skilled worker visas who have previously worked to combat online misinformation and disinformation. The visa revocation plans, which are being done in the name of free speech, come after the administration actively stifled the speech of foreign

The New England Patriots are the only other team to do so three times within a single season this century, according to ESPN Research. Seattle followed up its big win with multiple trolls. First, the Seahawks captioned their post-win graphic with "We're so ATL," then followed it up by writing "Peace Up, A-town down," in a different caption. The latter caption is a direct reference to a lyric from the track "Yeah!" by Atlanta-based singer Usher and rapper Lil Jon. Then, Seattle put its own spin on covers from Atlanta-based rap groups, such as OutKast
