The Lions (2-6, 2-1 NJAC) sprinted to a double-digit lead early, aided by two treys.  The Cougars (1-6, 1-2 NJAC) cut the deficit back to single digits in the first quarter, but TCNJ quickly gained momentum in the second stanza with 15 points beyond the arc to jump out to a 51-24 halftime lead. The Lions continued their balanced scoring attack in the final 20 minutes to earn their second NJAC win of the season. Brooke Sztenderowicz had a team-best nine points for the Cougars. No. 5 Lehigh falls to No. 12 Villanova 14-7 in FCS second round matchup

For the first time since 2004, Goodman Stadium hosted an FCS playoff game, packing 8,848 fans into a sold-out flurry of brown and white. But after four quarters, No. 5 Lehigh football’s historic season came to a close with a 14-7 loss to No. 12 Villanova University on Saturday afternoon. Lehigh entered the showcase undefeated at 12-0 with a 17-game regular-season win streak, the best rushing defense in the FCS and a home crowd that hadn’t given up since September. But Villanova, riding a nine-game win streak of its own, outlasted the Mountain Hawks in a costly matchup from fumbles and two late Wildcat touchdowns.  Sophomore quarterback Hayden Johnson threw for 161 yards, and running backs Luke Yoder and Aaron Crossley combined for 124 yards on the ground. But Lehigh’s offense struggled to finish drives, and for the first time all season, turnovers decided the outcome. Villanova’s graduate student quarterback Pat McQuaide threw for 208 yards, while graduate student wide receiver Luke Colella tallied 71 yards. The Wildcats capitalized on both of Lehigh’s fumbles, the program’s first lost offensive fumbles of the entire year. The first quarter was a stalemate, as neither team reached the endzone, and Lehigh’s early fake-field-goal

RELATED LINKS Box Score  COACH'S QUOTE "I felt like early we started with being the aggressor, being assertive, and executing a game plan, and then we took our foot off the gas," said Mayer Women's Basketball Head Coach Alisa Kresge .  "Bucknell thrived off of that, and they made their runs, their pushes, and they were being aggressive, and they set the pace. And so we readdressed it, and a little bit of allowing them to own that moment. We need our players to run this team. Some of our players spoke up about what we know we are capable of doing and what we were doing."  HOW IT HAPPENED Vermont opened the game with a 13–5 lead at the first media timeout with 3:05 left in the first quarter, highlighted by a long two from senior Keira Hanson off a pass from Weltz. Caldara Leads Cardinals in 2-1 Loss at St. John Fisher – Wesleyan Athletics

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Scoring her third goal of the season, Parker Caldara '29 now leads the Wesleyan women's hockey team in scoring and was a driving force for the offense in a 2-1 non-conference loss to St. John Fisher University on Friday night. Hitting the road for the first road trip of the season following a six-game homestand, the Cardinals (0-6-1 overall) were quick to outpace St. John Fisher (3-5-1 overall) from the opening faceoff. With both teams held without a goal in the first period, the Cardinals carried an 11-6 shot differential heading into the second after killing off a late penalty on an interference call. Despite the edge the Cardinals continued to hold, St. John finisher snagged the first goal on a power play. Following the cross-checking call to the Cardinals, Keira Reckley scored unassisted to give St. John Fisher the lead. With three minutes remaining in the period, St. John Fisher would take a two-goal lead with Sophie Grant putting a puck behind Cardinals' goaltender Jenna Guglielmi '27. Cavaliers Add First Pieces to 2026 Roster – Virginia Sports

By Jeff White (jwhite@virginia.edu) VirginiaSports.com CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — For the University of Virginia football program, on-field success and staff stability are opening recruiting doors that have been closed, especially in this state. Of the 14 high school seniors who signed with the Cavaliers on Wednesday, seven are Virginians: wide receiver Damari Carter (Richmond), defensive tackle JaySean Richardson (Richmond), defensive backs Alex Dunn (Roanoke) and Isaiah Harris (Charlottesville), offensive lineman Luke Hatfield (Haymarket) and athlete Jae’Oyn Williams (Woodbridge). “The reception is a lot different than maybe day one for the staff back when we took over,” said Tony Ellliott, who’s in his fourth season as UVA’s head coach, “and each year we’ve just made progress with building those relationships and then also showing the end product. “I think that’s the biggest thing. You can work as hard as you want building those relationships with the folks at the school, but until you can put the product on the field so that the young men, when they come, they can see it, they can touch it, they can feel it, ,” Elliott said Wednesday at the Hardie Center. “I think you’re seeing now we’ve got a little bit more to sell

Twitter reactions to Kentucky’s loss to North Carolina and Will Stein’s introduction to BBN

Scott Utterback/Courier Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images There are nights when the shots aren’t going to fall. That’s basketball. Then there was Tuesday night in Lexington, where the Kentucky Wildcats shot an abysmal 1-of-13 from three-point range in a 67-64 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels. Kentucky went over 10 minutes without a made shot at one point in the second half, and it contributed mightily to the outcome of the game. In addition, the Tar Heels out-rebounded the Wildcats 41-30. It was a very nip-and-tuck game throughout the 40 minutes. Both teams were plagued by foul trouble, and neither team could open up a lead in the first half. The game was tied 31-31 at the half. Both teams struggled shooting all night. Kentucky missed 14 of its last 16 shots. North Carolina, on the other hand, closed the game by making five of their last seven shots. Box Score MVP: Otega Oweh Oweh looked like the player we all thought he would be coming into this season, Tuesday night. He did a little bit of everything, scoring 16 points to lead the Wildcats, and pulling down four rebounds, with two assists, two blocks, and

Kentucky Falls to North Carolina on Tuesday – UK Athletics

Otega Oweh scored 16 points, but No. 18 Kentucky came up short, falling to 16th-ranked North Carolina 67-64 on Tuesday night inside Rupp Arena. Collin Chandler had 12 points and Denzel Aberdeen had 10. Malachi Moreno had eight points and nine rebounds. Kentucky (5-3) made just 1 of 13 (7.7 percent) from three-point range in the game, while UNC made 6 of 20 (30.0 percent). The Tar Heels controlled the boards, with 41 rebounds compared to just 30 for the Cats. UNC held a significant advantage in second-chance points, winning that category 22-5. North Carolina (7-1) scored first, but UK responded with layups from Chandler and Oweh to lead 4-2. The Tar Heels would tie the game before the Cats got baskets from Oweh, Chandler and Kam Williams to make it 10-4. The Tar Heels answered with a 9-1 run to lead 13-11 before Brandon Garrison scored to tie the game. UNC took the lead back on a three before an Andrija Jelavic bucket got the Cats within one. After North Carolina scored again, a Jasper Johnson layup made it 18-17. Carolina would score again to lead 20-17. Kentucky scored the next six points, on a Moreno layup, on Oweh
