Mike Trout Trade Urged, Potential Sale of Team Update, Kenley Jansen Wants Milestone

The Los Angeles Angels beat the Detroit Tigers, 7-4, on Saturday. The Halos improved to 56-61 on the year as Jo Adell and Taylor Ward each brought in 3 RBIs and hit a long ball. Additionally, a longtime MLB veteran claimed that the Angels need to trade Mike Trout. If the Halos were to even consider flipping the three-time MVP, the return would have to be franchise altering and replenish a farm system in need. In other news, a team insider provided an update on current owner Arte Moreno and the possibility of him selling the team. Moreno first purchased the Angels in 2003 from the Walt Disney Company, which formerly had control of the franchise. Finally, closer Kenley Jansen spoke on his desire to reach a historic milestone before retiring. The right-hander is in the final stages of his career, but one that will almost certainly end in Cooperstown. Here’s more information on these stories and all the latest Angels news (click the headline for the full article): Longtime MLB Veteran Says Angels Need to Trade Mike Trout Angels Insider Provides Major Update on Arte Moreno Potentially Selling the Team Angels' Kenley Jansen Wants to Reach Historic Milestone Before

Cody Fajardo fuels Elks’ rally over Als in return to Montreal – CFL.ca

MONTREAL – Cody Fajardo returned to his former stomping grounds in style, leading a fourth-quarter comeback and his Edmonton Elks to a 23-22 win over the Montreal Alouettes at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Friday night. Fajardo overcame an eight-point deficit and a suffocating Montreal front to secure the Elks’ first road win of the season and improve their record to 2-6. The Grey Cup MVP in 2023 with the Als connected on 27 of his 38 throws for 289 yards and two touchdowns — also tallying a team-high 14 rushing yards. For a second straight week, running back Justin Rankin led the team in the receiving game, notching 88 yards on four receptions. Kaion Julien-Grant — another Elk making his return to Montreal — scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the game-winner, redeeming himself after a late drop against Hamilton in Week 9. McLeod Bethel-Thompson and Caleb Evans split quarterback duties for the Als, with Bethel-Thompson benched after a rushed throw led to a pick-six just before halftime. The veteran — also making his first start against his former team — completed 10 of his 15 passes for 79 yards and the interception, while Evans went 14-for-18 with 113 yards

Wiregrass Archives, Wiregrass Black History Channel complete project – Troy Today

The Wiregrass Archives at Troy University Dothan and Mit Kirkland of the Wiregrass Black History Channel have completed a collaborative project funded by the Society of American Archivists. Titled “Capturing Black History in the Wiregrass,” the project features nine video interviews with African American residents of Dothan who lived through the era of racial segregation and desegregation. Seven interviews focused on places. Five interviewees discussed their childhoods in the former Southside neighborhood, razed in 1960 for Dothan’s first urban renewal project, and two discussed the former business and entertainment districts of Baptist Bottom and downtown’s Five Points. The last two focused on people. Dr. W. Charles Lewis talked about his book, “28 Black History Makers: Dothan, Alabama,” which he presented at the April 2025 John Woodham Memorial Lecture. Themar Long remembered his father Ted Long, “Stylist to the Stars,” who claimed 23 movie hair and makeup credits including “The Wiz,” “Dead Presidents” and “Hustle and Flow.” Director of the Wiregrass Archives Dr. Marty Olliff said this project is key to preserving oral history that would otherwise be lost. “Local history that stays locked in the memories of residents gets lost,” he said. “Capturing those memories first-hand and making them available to the public is

‘Monuments of a disappearing past’: moody midwestern nights – in pictures | Art and design

“Since I was not born in the area, I was always an outsider, yet in a way still a part of the community. My series Small Places is a way for me to better understand and honor a part of my life that passed when I moved back to the city.” Jodi’s Barbershop & Hairstyling, Thomasboro, Illinois, 2023, population: 1,034 Photograph: Jim Hill “This work is about survivors – those buildings and neighborhoods that have somehow persisted amidst the constant pressure of economic decline, urban revitalization, demolition and the continuing loss of the midwest’s unique identity.” Robin Bailey, White Front Cafe – Toronto, Ohio, 2024 Photograph: Robin Bailey “Since 1982, the US has lost approximately 80% of its dairy farms and 90% of its hog farms, accelerating a trend toward fewer but much larger farms. With farm production becoming more consolidated and big-box retailers in the county seats, this drives local merchants out of business. The small towns in the region struggle to reinvent themselves amid an agricultural bounty.” Front Street, Brooklyn, Iowa, 2023, population: 1,502 Photograph: Jim Hill “Black and white also allows these images to achieve an iconic quality as monuments of a disappearing past while preserving a
