COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball received its 2026-27 conference schedule from the Southeastern Conference today. The five-time reigning SEC Champion Gamecocks will host four of the league’s top-25 finishers last season and travel to four such teams as well, including Oklahoma, which they will play both at home and on the road. South Carolina will host Alabama in the league opener for the second-straight season with this season’s matchup coming on New Year’s Eve instead of New Year’s Day. The Gamecocks will go on the road for their next two, beginning with a trip to Final Four participant Texas (Jan. 3). After a Thursday trip to Mississippi State (Jan. 7), South Carolina will welcome Arkansas (Jan. 10) and Oklahoma (Jan. 14) to Colonial Life Arena. The Gamecocks will split the next two weeks of home and away games, traveling to Missouri (Jan. 17) and Tennessee (Jan. 28) between hosting Florida (Jan. 21) and top-20 finisher Kentucky (Jan. 31). February will open with a pair of elite road games with South Carolina traveling to Vanderbilt (Feb. 4), which finished in the top 10 last season, and Oklahoma (Feb. 8) to close out that home-and-home series. The Cincinnati Bengals encountered one of the stronger storms so far this training camp. Before it hit, it was truly a thing of beauty. As you can imagine, practice was moved inside the bubble after that. One of the biggest trends was players getting days off/new injuries (we do not know for some of them until after practice). One of the bigger names was one of the team’s starting cornerbacks. Dax Hill misses another practice Hill has been dealing with what appears to be a hamstring issue he suffered in last Thursday’s practice. It appears the team is exercising an abundance of caution with Hill. He probably appreciates it to a point as well since he is in a contract year looking for a new deal. Safe to say Hill likely won’t play against the Detroit Lions on Thursday. As for the rest, it seems there were a bit of rest days galore for the defense Dexter Lawrence and Bryan Cook seemed to have veteran days. Meanwhile, Cashius Howell and Tacario Davis both missed at least the team portion of practice. Likely will need updates. Indeed, the failure of Twitter as a business was so catastrophic, Musk had to hide it by merging all his Xs together: he had xAI buy X (formerly Twitter), and then had SpaceX buy xAI. But when Musk was buying Twitter and needed investors, he made bold promises about how he would succeed — promises the media and his investors treated as perfectly reasonable. He said he would take Twitter’s ad revenue from $4.5 billion in 2021 to $12 billion in 2027 (and then also many more billions in subscription revenue). Now that SpaceX is a public company, he has to report some of that revenue, though it’s all merged and buried in footnotes. But there’s enough info in there to show that advertising revenue is way, way below what it was when he took over the site. And it’s shrinking. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rising sophomore Sophie Morrow of the Penn State women’s hockey team has been selected to USA Hockey’s National Women’s Collegiate Select Team to compete in a three-game series against Canada's National Women's Development Team, as announced by the organization on Monday afternoon. Morrow is one of eight defensemen on the 25-player roster selected to represent the United States in the series, held Aug. 10-16 in Richmond, British Columbia. She will face Penn State teammates Abby Stonehouse and Grace Outwater, who were selected to represent Canada in the three-game series. Morrow earned her spot on the roster following her participation in the 2026 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival. She was one of 46 of the nation’s top collegiate players invited to compete Aug. 2-9 at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y. This marks Morrow’s first opportunity to represent the United States in international competition. She has previously been part of USA Hockey’s player development pipeline, attending two development camps prior to earning an invitation to this year’s National Festival. More than two years after People's Park was cordoned off, there is no word on a timeline for a promised affordable housing project. But after leaving it vacant for two years, a group of young people decided to lay claim to the space and transform it into a park."
