Gamecocks Place Five on All-SEC Teams – University of South Carolina Athletics

COLUMBIA, S.C. (May 19, 2026) – South Carolina Track & Field placed five athletes on the All-SEC teams, announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The criteria for All-SEC Teams are as follows: First Team (gold medalist), Second Team (silver medalist) and Third Team (bronze medalist). Salma Elbadra and Akala Garrett represented South Carolina on the All-SEC First Team, earning wins in the 1500 meters and the 400-meter hurdles. Elbadra repeated as the SEC Outdoor 1500m Champion when she clocked 4:09.80 to fend off Tia Wilson of Florida who ran 4:09.84. The Morocco native carries the second fastest 1500m time in the NCAA this season at 4:02.63. Garrett earned the first gold medal for the Gamecocks in the 400mH since Tyler Brockington won in 2017, running a new world leading time of 54.02. Garrett’s winning time in the 400mH is the second fastest time in school history and saw her become the eighth 400mH winner in program history. Tristen Harris is the lone Gamecock on the All-SEC Second Team, finishing runner-up in the women’s long jump. Harris, competing in her first ever SEC Outdoor Championship, secured the silver-medal finish after jumping a personal best distance of 6.49m (21-3.5). The

If you have a cat this one's for you, "My cat brings me things when she wants to play and then immediately runs off with it and hides it and we never see it again. It's quite a game we play." This one from first thing this morning, "Live, laugh, love? How about give up and go back to bed?" I like this, "A burglar breaking into my house would eventually just sit down and ask how I’m surviving." May 18, 2026 Mike Mancini named All-SEC, All-Defense NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mike Mancini was named to the All-SEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team, the league announced Monday. Mancini is one of only two SEC players this spring with 15 or more home runs and 15 or more stolen bases. The other, Georgia’s Daniel Jackson, was named the SEC Player of the Year. The senior leads the team in home runs with 15 including nine against SEC opponents. He also leads the Commodores in walks and stolen bases. He owns a 1.043 OPS and has a team-high 13 multi-RBI games. Mancini carries an eight-game hit streak into the conference tournament. He is the first Commodore since Jeren Kendall in 2017 with 15 or more home runs and 15 or more stolen bases. Vanderbilt faces Kentucky on Tuesday in the opening round of the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.

(Faurecia), located in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico, are being denied the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. The United States has suspended liquidation of unliquidated entries of goods from the Faurecia facility, which manufactures and commercializes auto parts.     Background The United States Trade Representative and the Secretary of Labor co-chair the Interagency Labor Committee for Monitoring and Enforcement (ILC).  On April 16, 2026, the ILC received an RRM petition from Sindicato Independiente Nacional de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras de la Industria Automotriz (SINTTIA), a Mexican independent union.  The petition alleges that the company violated workers’ rights by interfering in employees’ union activity and unlawfully dismissed workers because of their union activity.  The ILC reviews RRM petitions that it receives, and the accompanying information, within 30 days.   After conducting this review, the ILC determined
