CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Seniors  Ben James (First Team) and Bryan Lee (Third Team) garnered preseason All-America honors from Golfweek on Thursday (Aug. 28). Virginia was one of nine schools nationally and the only Atlantic Coast Conference program with multiple honorees. James has been named a First Team All-American by Golfweek for each of his first three seasons, the only player in program history to capture multiple first team All-America accolades. Lee was an honorable mention All-American as a junior last season. The pair also landed on the Haskins Award Preseason Watch List earlier this week. Virginia, the 2025 NCAA Runner-Up, is ranked the No. 2 team in the country according to Golfweek’s preseason ranking. UVA is coming off the program’s first ever ACC Championship in 2025 and return five of their six golfers that competed in last year’s historic NCAA Tournament run. Four returning players are ranked in the top-50 of the latest World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) – James (No. 2), Lee (No. 30), Paul Chang (No. 35) and Josh Duangmanee (No. 44) Before the Cavaliers begin their fall schedule at the Invitational at the Honors Course (Sept. 15-16) in Ooltewah, Tenn., James will represent the United States in

Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images As the Cincinnati Bengals finalized their 53-man roster for the 2025 season, some noted that they only carried eight offensive linemen. That led to speculation that they may add a player after final cuts, and that turned out to be the case. On Wednesday, it was reported that the Bengals signed veteran guard Dalton Risner. The Bengals have been active this season, and this is a move fans have clamored for since the visit was announced. Now, Risner has signed, as the unit crafted to keep Joe Burrow upright just got a major upgrade. As always, Twitter reacted to the news: After all of the signings, this could be the best offensive line of Joe Burrow’s career, with Dylan Fairchild earning rave reviews at left guard. Risner has a habit of taking starting positions and not giving them back, so the competition with Patrick will be interesting to see. 1 Comment

The Denver Broncos finally came up with a 53-man roster! As there is with anything, there were some expected notable cuts (running back Audric Estime and cornerback Damarri Mathis), and there were also some early surprises, such as Denver parting ways with do-it-all wide receiver Courtney Jackson and training camp standout Levelle Bailey. Karene Reid was the only undrafted free agent to make the 53-man roster, making it 21 out of the last 22 years the Broncos have brought undrafted talent onto the roster. Fans waiting to see the initial squad had to wait more than an hour past the 2 p.m. deadline to learn that quarterback Sam Ehlinger was the final cut. Here's a sampling of how fans and pundits reacted to the team's cuts on Twitter/X. Next up: Sept. 7th's season and home opener against 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans. Elon Musk's X social media platform, formerly Twitter, has reportedly reached a tentative settlement in a $500 million class-action lawsuit over severance pay, the New York Times reports. The suit stems from when Musk took over Twitter in 2022; he cut more than 80% of the staff (around 6,000 employees). Many laid-off employees sued, claiming they were owed severance. Now, almost three years after the firings, X Corp has settled, though the terms have not been disclosed. Related: Gen Z Is Redefining the Workplace — and Companies Must Adapt or Face Losing Talent Oral arguments in the case were scheduled to begin on September 17 in San Francisco. Fox Business reports that, in the lawsuit, the laid-off employees claim a company severance plan from 2019 stated that cut workers receive two months' base salary — and a week for every year served. The lawsuit says that some workers affected by the layoffs received only one month of severance pay, while others did not receive anything, per the filing. Separate cases regarding former senior executives at the company are still ongoing. The severance arbitration cases of more than 2,000 former Twitter employees were also reached. The Times calls the moves an
