Google expands Demand Gen tools to drive faster YouTube conversions

Google is rolling out new Demand Gen updates in Google Ads, aimed at helping advertisers convert faster and capture more new customers across YouTube and beyond. What’s happening. Demand Gen is now integrated into Commerce Media Suite, allowing advertisers to tap into retailers’ first-party catalog and conversion data to reach high-intent shoppers across YouTube, Discover, and Gmail. At the same time, new view-through conversion (VTC) optimization lets campaigns prioritize conversions that happen after an ad is viewed — not just clicked — speeding up performance. Why we care. these updates should make Demand Gen more effective at turning views into actual conversions. By using retailer data and optimizing for view-through activity, campaigns can capture more high-intent users—even if they don’t click. That means faster results and better new customer growth Between the lines. Google is leaning into signals beyond clicks, using richer commerce data and view-based attribution to drive results in more passive, discovery-heavy environments like YouTube. What to watch. Expect more Demand Gen announcements at upcoming events like Google Marketing Live, as YouTube continues to position itself as a full-funnel performance channel. Bottom line. Google is turning Demand Gen into a faster, more data-driven engine for converting high-intent audiences

Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images YouTube has taken down two channels by the controversial “looksmaxxing” influencer Clavicular. The streamer, whose real name is Braden Peters, took to social media on Thursday seeking help to recover his accounts. “Very sad news this morning,” Peters wrote on X. “My YouTube channels @ LiveWithClav & @ ClavLooksmax were terminated this morning with no warning or explanation. The channels consisted of livestream VODs and free courses created by me to help empower young men to be the best versions of themselves. Me and my team worked hard to ensure we followed YouTube’s TOS very strictly, blurring out all inapproriate language and sensitive topics.” Before ending his message, he tagged YouTube’s X accounts and asked, “Could you please help in recovering my accounts?” Despite Peters’s claims that the video platform did not give him an explanation for pulling his channels offline, he shared what appeared to be screenshots of emails from YouTube. “We have reviewed your content

Alberta separatist leader unconcerned about influence of YouTube ‘slopaganda’ videos | CBC News

After a new report put a spotlight on popular YouTube videos with unclear origin promoting Alberta separatism, an independence leader said he's unconcerned about foreign interference influencing a possible upcoming separation referendum. Mitch Sylvestre, the CEO of the Alberta Prosperity Project, said claims of foreign interference in the Alberta independence debate are “overblown." He was responding to a new report about a network of inauthentic and coordinated YouTube channels, which the report's authors argue is exploiting Albertans' grievances with the federal government to advance the idea of separating from Canada and joining the United States. “This foreign interference thing, as far as I’m concerned, is a fairy tale up to this point,” Sylvestre said. The report, published Tuesday by the Canadian Digital Media Research Network, analyzes channels that post videos with such titles as "Danielle Smith Just ANNOUNCED the Biggest Separation in Canadian History Is About to HAPPEN!” and "Alberta & Saskatchewan Just GOT OFFICIALLY BACKED By The US! 51ST-52ND STATEHOOD INCOMING!" Researchers analyzed 20 YouTube accounts that have totaled nearly 40 million views in the past year. The channels' videos are designed similarly while drawing from the same subjects and news clips, while including "frequent and obvious lies," the

YouTube kills Clips, brings new sharing feature to phones – Trusted Reviews

YouTube is changing how you share moments from videos. In the process, it’s quietly killing off one of its lesser-used features. As shared by 9to5Google, the platform has confirmed it is removing the ability to create new Clips. At the same time, it is rolling out a more straightforward “share at timestamp” option on mobile. Clips have been around for a while, letting users cut short segments from longer videos to share elsewhere. They’ve been particularly useful for creators trying to promote highlights or key moments. But despite that, YouTube is now shifting direction. Existing Clips will still work, but you won’t be able to make new ones going forward. Instead, YouTube is leaning into simpler sharing. The new timestamp sharing feature, already familiar to desktop users, is now being properly rolled out across phones and tablets. It lets you send a video link that starts at a specific moment, without needing to create a separate clip. The option sits in the top-right corner of the share menu. This makes it much quicker to grab and send. At the same time, YouTube says it isn’t abandoning clipping entirely. It is just moving it closer to creators. The company also plans to introduce more creator-focused
