The board has been going back and forth about whether to continue offering a Zoom virtual option or perhaps to broadcast the meetings in another way since the state legislation approving remote meetings for local units of government expired on March 31. Administrator Quentin Bishop did some research with the Michigan Association of Counties and an attorney and learned that if the county wanted to continue the Zoom option, the board would have to declare a continued state of emergency. While they did not want to do that, some board members feel it is important to make the meetings available for those who can’t attend. It was suggested Thursday that Bishop look into the creation of a YouTube channel for the county, and he said he had already done so and tested it to see if it works — though it is not yet published…

"Hold-up," which presents itself as a well-researched documentary, claims the coronavirus pandemic is a secret plot by the global elite to eliminate a part of the world population and control the rest — a common belief among conspiracy theorists — and is similar to an American video, "Plandemic," which also released last year.  But while Google and Facebook clamped down hard on Plandemic, its French counterpart could still be found online both in full and via extracts until May 10.  “YouTube acted quickly and aggressively to remove Plandemic; but in the case of Hold-up, YouTube’s inaction allowed the dissemination of conspiracy theories with serious harmful consequences for public health,” reads EU DisinfoLab’s report.
