City warning community over Facebook transit card scam – My Lethbridge Now

Those who use city transit are being warned about an alleged scam on Facebook. According to City of Lethbridge officials, there is an alleged payment scam circulating on Facebook where people believe they are buying an ‘unlimited travel smartcard.’ The social media profile Public Transport in Lethbridge has a post up where they are offering fraudulent smartcards, asking those wanting to purchase the card to click a link and put in their credit card information. According to the statement from city officials, both the post and the account have been reported to Facebook and the city has also commented on the post to help alert Facebook users to the fraudulent offer.
