Clubhouse, which is a space for casual, drop-in audio conversations, has now become more democratic with its debut on Android. Its Indian debut happened yesterday. It was exclusive to Apple’s iOS till yesterday.Before rolling it out on Android all over the world, the app was first piloted in the US to see its potential.Sharing his experience of using Clubhouse, a user named Aditya Das wrote, “A wonderful moment in a product’s journey: when the users invent a feature. Joined rooms on Clubhouse last night, to discover people repeatedly tapping the mic button, to flash the mute icon, using it to show appreciation/agreement, as there are no reactions, unlike Spaces.”Clubhouse is an invite-only chat app. “Access to the app however remains invite-only despite strong competition from Twitter Spaces,” LittleMediaAgency recently commented. As per Bob Morris, there is a fundamental difference between Spaces and Clubhouse. “Those already on Twitter have followings and follow, so it’s a logical transition to social audio with Twitter Spaces. Clubhouse has a lot of big egos that are less interested in conversation vs. a personal branding megaphone.”
