Clubhouse, a voice-only chatting app, said on Sunday that it will launch a spatial audio feature to make sounds come from different directions, helping bring virtual conversations and performances closer to life. The voice-only chatting app, backed by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, launched the social voice trend last year and has become known for its chat rooms with thousands of CEOs and celebrities. The new feature, similar to the Clubhouse surround sound, will help it integrate into the shows and entertainment rooms that have sprung up on the app. The application technology will assign users a spatial location, so that the listener hears the sounds around them in their headphones, depending on the number of speakers in the club room said Justin Uberti, the club’s head of broadcast technology.
