Maine CDC is responding to the COVID‑19 pandemic, caused by a novel (new) coronavirus.We urge Maine people to practice good hand hygiene, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home as much as possible. If you test positive: Please isolate immediately. Do not wait for a call from Maine CDC to isolate. You should stay in isolation until you meet the criteria to leave (PDF), or to seek medical treatment. Let your close contacts know about their exposure. If you had close contact with a positive case: Quarantine at home after your last exposure to the positive case. You should stay in quarantine until you meet the criteria to leave (PDF). On February 25, 2022, the U.S. CDC revised the way it measures the risk of COVID-19 spread in each county. This new measurement shifts from measuring COVID-19 transmission to focus on the impact of COVID-19 on the community and healthcare system.
