Nordic Ski | 1/15/2026 2:50:00 PM A deeper field awaits the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team this weekend as the Golden Knights will be challenged by a variety of programs at the Spike Clayton Memorial Invitational, hosted by the University of Vermont at Sleepy Hollow Inn in Huntington, VT The Race: Unlike last weekend where only a few collegiate teams competed, the Green and Gold are scheduled to be joined by Colby, Cornell, Dartmouth, Hamilton, McGill, Middlebury, Northeastern, Paul Smiths, Skidmore, Smith, Sterling, St. Lawrence, Main-Farmington, Vermont, Wellesley, West Point, Williams, and Yale. Saturday’s event is a 10K Skiathlon where the competitors will race a 5K Classic and then a 5K Skate, while Sunday’s is a three-person skate relay on a 1.7K loop with each skier doing three laps. The Men: Clarkson will have a full roster traveling this weekend, capable of creating five full relay teams. The top relay team will likely be Matthew Clarner , Adam Jansen , and Torsten Brickley , as that trio combined to take three of the top four spots in the 10K on Saturday, each recording under 26 minutes in that event.
