Dixon Planning Commission OKs Homestead clubhouse design

The Dixon Planning Commission unanimously approved the design review for a senior clubhouse as part of the Homestead development at Tuesday’s meeting. The Homestead project is a multi-phase development project in southwest Dixon south of West A Street by Pitt School Road. The development would include 1,365 single and multi-family units, a 32-acre commercial space and a 41-acre employment center. Anton Garcia of project developer Taylor Builders submitted an application for a clubhouse located in Village 6 as part of the second phase of the project. The private clubhouse would serve the active adult community residing in villages 6, 7, 9 and 10, consisting of 302 units. Associate Planner Scott Greeley said amenities would include outdoor seating and dining, swimming pool, spa, barbecue pit, bocce and pickle ball courts, amphitheater area for movie nights and comedy performances, and an outdoor exercise area. The clubhouse will utilize a farmhouse design, consisting of gabled roofs, large covered and connected patios, a limited use of color, and a frequent use of natural materials such as wood, stone and mud bricks.
