Dreams Unlimited Clubhouse members in Royal Oak reveal talents at open house

Members and staff at the Easterseals Michigan’s Dreams Unlimited Clubhouse in Royal Oak hosted an open house Tuesday to celebrate. Members, relatives and others got a chance to see and hear the artistic talents of some clubhouse members, which included singing, artwork, and music from a member who plays saxophone. The clubhouse house program run by Easterseals hosted the open house in celebration of the clubhouse program’s 30th anniversary. Clubhouse Manager Irvin Weatherspoon said there are 45 members of the clubhouse, all 18 or older. Members’ surnames are not released publicly. “Dreams Unlimited (clubhouses) are a psycho-social rehab center program to help individuals gain skills to be independent in the community,” Weatherspoon said, “by getting a job, going to school and possibly getting a house.” There are 40 other Dreams Unlimited Clubhouses across the state, he added.
