Durham radio personality Barragán's book about love, marriage, cheating – Record-Journal

DURHAM — Local radio personality Vero Barragán launched her new Spanish-language book “Hasta Que los Cuernos Nos Separen” last month at an event at the Hartford Public Library. The title is based on a Spanish expression that means being unfaithful. The book is about love, marriage and cheating.Barragán found out her husband was cheating on her when she was a self-described “sexy bomb” at five months pregnant with her youngest daughter. She said she had to learn to pause, reflect, heal and work through it with her husband.“Obviously, nobody wants to say that they are the victim of the story,” she said. “They sell you the idea that if you’re good and do everything right, nothing bad will ever happen to you. But when it happened to me for various reasons, I had to face it in a different way.”Sharing the story, breaking the silenceBarragán has been thinking about sharing her story for nearly a decade, but didn’t write about it until the pandemic. During lockdown, she joined a social app called Clubhouse where people host different chatrooms to speak about different topics.
