The opposition MP who has championed what would have bene the first time Facebook appeared before lawmakers in Africa, Phumzile Van Damme, has reportedly resigned from the Democratic Alliance’s (DA). “It is most unfortunate that Facebook has at the eleventh hour withdrawn its commitment to meet with the committee of Communications and Digital Technologies after agreeing to do so,” Van Damme told Stuff.
