An artist impression of Kilnamanagh Football Club’s new clubhouse PLANS for a new two-storey clubhouse for Kilnamanagh AFC have been given the green light by South Dublin County Council. As previously reported in The Echo, the club plans to develop a state-of-the-art clubhouse on Treepark Road at a cost of approximately €500k. The football club has over 500 members, and its senior side and women’s teams have grown substantially over the years. However, a lack of facilities has meant that their teams had to share toilets with the local community centre. The grant of planning permission is welcome news in the club, as it means they will now have their own facilities after a successful fundraising drive for the development of the clubhouse. Last March, the club held a fundraiser called Run for Rockets, where participants were invited to donate a minimum of €5 and run, scoot, cycle or walk as much as they could throughout the month. The club raised over €25,000 as a result of the fundraiser, which will go towards the development of the new clubhouse.
