Franklin County deputies arrested a man who says he stabbed another man in self-defense after he went to the victim’s house to confront him.Preston Teague, 35, was arrested on a warrant for attempted first-degree murder and other charges.Note: This article originally stated the charge was first-degree murder, based on court documents and the jail records. Law enforcement has clarified the charge is attempted first-degree murder and the victim has not died.According to a police narrative submitted to the court, the stabbing victim, Kyle Rofkar, identified Teague as his attacker when he was getting medical treatment on May 11, 2025.Teague told the deputy he wanted an attorney, but began talking about the incident without being prompted, according to the narrative.Teague said he believed his girlfriend was cheating on him with Rofkar so he used Snapchat to find out where he lived. He went to Rofkar’s house where he shined a flashlight and called out for Rofkar.The deputy wrote that Teague said Rofkar came out and rammed his vehicle with a truck and that he stabbed him in self-defense.Teague has been in jail since May 11 and has no attorney listed, so 40/29 News has been unable to contact him.
