Before becoming a standalone title, Total Chaos was an award-winning mod of Doom II by Sam Prebble. Now, with the shadow launch by Apogee Entertainment and Infogrames, players can experience what horrors await. Total Chaos puts players in the shoes of a Coast Guard (sic) that ended up on the island of Fort Oasis after trying to respond to an emergency call on the radio. Now stuck on the island, you must explore and survive the horrors within. Now. Onto the game itself. When it comes to the controls, they’re alright. I feel like there’s a “slide” look to the movement when you’re walking and then stop, but continue moving forward a few inches after you stop; it’s kind of annoying. I feel like this was not truly optimized for controllers. When it comes to sound, you’ll need to lower it A LOT; it’s way too loud and could have benefited from better mixing. I really do not like the first-person view, or how it’s done; it’s in a weird fisheye view.
