Grove Rugby Football Club will receive £83,861 from Vale of White Horse District Council to support the improvements, which include the addition of new kitchen facilities and a modernisation of the clubhouse. The upgrades will also focus on sustainability, with plans for energy-efficient appliances, LED lighting with motion sensors and improved insulation. Councillor Mark Coleman, deputy leader and cabinet member for finance at Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “I’m so pleased to see that we are supporting Grove Rugby Football Club in modernising their facilities. “Clubs like these play such an important role in improving community wellbeing, both physically and mentally. “It’s also great to see that the new facilities will be designed with energy efficiency in mind, ensuring that the club can continue to thrive sustainably for years to come.” The funding comes from Section 106 developer contributions, collected by the council to provide and enhance facilities to support development of the area. Graham Mundy, parish clerk at Grove Parish Council, said: “We’re delighted to support the S106 application from Grove Rugby Football Club. “It is so important for parish and town councils alike to support local sports clubs, who in turn support their respective communities.” Nigel
