THE conditional planning approval by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to build a two-storey clubhouse near resort homes in Kota Damansara was passed at the One-Stop Centre (OSC) in March this year. MBPJ Development Planning Department director Lee Lih Shyan said the plan included a changing room, merchandise shop, surau, cafeteria, toilet and multipurpose hall. Lee said the plot of land on a golf course where the proposed clubhouse would be – Lot 50635 zoned under recreational land and open space – fell under the Petaling Jaya Local Plan 2 (RTPJ 2). “Under this zoning and Selangor State Planning Guidelines and Standards Manual, the said activities can be considered based on conditions and we can allow the clubhouse to be built based on conditions,” he told StarMetro after the full board meeting yesterday. Lee said the zoning and planning for the clubhouse at the time of decision were compliant with the Petaling Jaya Local Plan (RTPJ) and OSC guidelines.
