Highlights, MVP, and Twitter reactions to Will Stein’s first win with Kentucky Wildcats

The Will Stein era is officially underway for Kentucky Football! The Wildcats opened up the Stein era with a 45-13 victory over Youngstown State in front of a big crowd at Kroger Field that braved the heat. The offense was humming early, opening the game with a 7-play, 75-yard drive culminating in a 15-yard touchdown run by CJ Baxter. The Cats scored touchdowns on their next two offensive possessions as well, opening up a 21-0 lead over Youngstown, as Baxter found the end zone again on the ground and Kenny Minchey picked up his first passing touchdown by hitting Mikkel Skinner on a short touchdown pass. The Cats scored again after a muffed punt gave Kentucky a short field, and Minchey was able to find Willie Rodriguez for a touchdown on 4th-and-goal. The Penguins were able to get into the end zone with just 20 seconds left in the half, as Kentucky took a 28-7 lead into halftime. The Youngstown offense was able to find some success in the second half with another long drive that resulted in a 9-yard touchdown run, but Minchey tossed two more touchdown passes in the second half, including a beautiful throw to freshman Kenny
