The plaques were stolen in the town’s downtown area sometime during the late-night hours of Oct. 19 and early morning hours of Oct. 20, according to a news release. Each of the eight plaques described the historical significance of the building to which it was attached. Police have released an image of a vehicle suspected to have been used in relation to the thefts. RCMP say this truck may have been used in the theft of eight plaques from buildings in Olds. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Olds RCMP at 403-556-3323, or to submit a tip anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
