Jim Jordan reloaded his 155mm Howitzer of Stupid on Thursday. The topic for the day was The Twitter Files, and the star witnesses du jour were journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger, to whom the massive document dump was delivered by Someone Requesting Anonymity. Quite frankly, it was one of the saddest spectacles I ever have watched on C-SPAN, and that includes several state funerals.Here is a partial list of a few of the things I did not need to see:Rep. Thomas Massie, sitting in front of what appeared to be a seventh-grade science fair project that supported vaccine denialism.The eternally insufferable Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz bullyragging Taibbi on how much money he made, or Plaskett coyly trying to get him to give up his sources while denying that’s what she was doing, thereby giving Jordan an opportunity to masquerade as John Peter Zenger. Jordan behaving like an ill-tempered substitute teacher with the mother of all hangovers. I appreciate that Jordan was born a colossal jerk and can’t do anything about that, but nobody forced him to refine the character so thoroughly, either.
