Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, announced the repeat event on his LinkedIn page yesterday. The 2nd Prime Day event for this year will take place in October. The exact date has not yet been announced. The Prime Day will run in 19 counties. In addition to the U.S., it will also take place in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The first day of Prime Day was the largest sales day in Amazon’s history, the company announced afterward. The full event in July captured 42% of consumer spending, up from 40% in 2022, according to data analyzed by consumer insights company Numerator for its Prime Day Recap Report. The home and garden category accounted for 22% of dollar sales, putting it second only to electronics, which had a 24% share, per the report.
