Sancho’s problems at Old Trafford can be traced back to September when he accused Ten Hag of lying over the reason for his omission from the Man United squad for the 3-1 defeat by Arsenal. Ten Hag had told the press that the Englishman hadn’t been performing in training, with Sancho taking to social media to hit back at the allegations – a move that went down badly with his boss. The Dutchman responded by exiling Sancho from the first team, with the £73million signing from Dortmund being forced to train with academy players.
