Published December 13, 2021 11:11AM article LAKELAND, Fla. – Deputies in Polk County say a Snapchat video eventually led them to arrest a Lakeland High School substitute teacher for having a sexual relationship with a student. According to the sheriff’s office, an LHS student approached Lakeland police earlier this month about a Snapchat video showing 20-year-old Ayanna Davis having sex with a student. The video had supposedly been shown to a large group of LHS football players. For jurisdictional reasons, LPD turned the investigation over to the sheriff’s office. When their detectives interviewed Davis, she allegedly admitted that she’d had sex with the student on four occasions – twice at his house, and twice at her house. The boy was under 17, according to deputies. Detectives say his account matched what Davis told them. Davis is now charged with several counts of sexual battery. She was being held Monday on $60,000 bond. “This is a clear violation of sexual battery laws. She was in a position of influence over the victim, and she took advantage of that for her own twisted pleasure,” Sheriff Grady Judd said in a release about the arrest.
