Leah Williamson has revealed she ‘took control’ when she decided to leave the England Women’s football team group chat. She has also given her view of legend Beth Mead’s snub reports the Mirror. After she lead her team to victory in the 2022 European Championship, Leah was expected to captain England again at the Women’s World Cup which is currently being held in Australia. However, an injury robbed the football star of her chances – which in turn made her decide to leave her teammates to it. Appearing on Captial FM, the Lioness also spoke about her team-mate Beth and how her being ‘kicked-out’ of the chat is “not a funny situation. The conversation came as the England team took on China in their final group game – which ended in 6-1 as they stormed through to the top group. Goals from Lauren James, Lauren Hemp, Rachel Daly, Alessia Russo and Chloe Kelly made sure the Lionesses cemented themselves into the last 16. They will face Nigeria on Monday, August 7, at 8.30am in Brisbane Stadium. Leah is supporting her team-mates but revealed a big decision she had to make whilst chatting to Roman Kemp, Sian Welby and Chris Stark.
