PARIS — A Magazine man accused of soliciting sex from a 13-year-old girl remains in custody despite his attempt to impersonate another man, post bond and be released from jail. Gavin K. Wells, 25, of Magazine is charged in the initial case with sexual indecency with a child and sexual solicitation of a minor involving an offer or agreement to pay a minor to engage in sexual activity, according to Logan County Circuit Court records in the Booneville District. He pleaded not guilty in a Friday court appearance, court records show. On June 2, Wells sent nude photos of himself to a 13-year-old girl and requested nude photos of her during a conversation on the social media app SnapChat, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. He also asked to meet the girl and offered to pay her to have sex, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported. Wells was arrested June 5 and formal charges were filed Tuesday, court records show.
