Man arrested outside of Sandy hotel for kidnapping, human trafficking, sexual extortion

SANDY, Utah (KUTV) — A man was arrested outside a hotel in Sandy on suspicion of kidnapping, human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation, and sexual extortion. Officers with the Sandy Police Department were dispatched to Extended Stay America on Friday, September 25, to conduct a welfare check. The caller said she hadn’t heard from her granddaughter, who was at the hotel with Zaevion Lytrell Xavier Jermaine McIntosh, 27. The caller said McIntosh had a history of domestic violence. Once they were separated, the woman told officers that McIntosh asked her to sell sexually explicit photos of herself to help pay for the hotel room. She said that she agreed out of “fear of what Zaevion would do if she said no,” as he was an “extremely angry person,” the affidavit states. She told officers that he had assaulted other female partners in the past, as well as his three dogs.
