SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Haile Middle School teacher accused of sending lewd photos to one of her students was officially fired Tuesday by the Manatee County School Board. The board voted unanimously, “to terminate Haile Middle School ESE Teacher Oliver Fell,” the school district said in a news release. Fell, 28, turned herself in to the authorities June 2 after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She has been charged with lewd contact with a student by an authority figure, a second-degree felony, and transmission of harmful material to a minor, a third-degree felony. Investigators say on March 3, a school resource deputy learned from a male student at Haile Middle School that Fell, an Exceptional Student Education teacher, had been communicating with him through Snapchat since December 2024. The 14-year-old student also reported that the teacher sent him an explicit photo on Snapchat on Jan. 2, the news release said.
