One local resident described the Grosvenor Road scenes late on Saturday (July 3) as “mayhem”, claiming police missed their opportunity to take action before it descended into “chaos”. Avon and Somerset police insist they had no powers to intervene earlier at Grosvenor Road. When officers attended during the afternoon, people were gathered in groups of fewer than 30, according to police.
