Mississippi State signee Jacob Parker drafted in 19th round of MLB Draft – On3.com

Sunday and Monday were big days for the Parker family down in Purvis. A day after Joseph Parker was taken in the first round, eighth overall to the Toronto Blue Jays, twin brother Jacob Parker is off the board as well. Jacob earned his selection in the 19th round and was picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks. However, chances that Jacob makes it to college have grown tremendously in the last two days. Since the Parker brothers committed to the Bulldogs all the way back in 2021, their stock has only risen. Joseph was taken higher than Jacob, but the latter was just as accomplished. Jacob joined his brother as the Class 4A Mr. Baseball as he helped his Purvis Tornado team to the state championship this season. He was also the Pro Baseball Report Mississippi Player of the Year with Joseph. While Joseph has his future set in the middle infield, Jacob will be in the outfield long term. Jacob played six years for Purvis beginning with a seventh grade season back in 2020. That season ended prematurely due to the Covid-19 pandemic and then he was off.
